US Department of Energy announced new contract awards to exchange about 53.3 million barrels of crude oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as part of a coordinated effort to stabilize global oil supplies.

Deliveries will begin immediately, with the program designed to move oil into the market quickly while maintaining the reserve’s long-term strength through exchange returns. The action is part of broader emergency energy management efforts to support supply stability and energy security.
