With all the surveillance technology, I donโt know if weโre safer or just more scared. The phone app โSharktivityโ tells you the latest shark sightings. Its Terms of Service agreement explains: โYou should not rely on this app to determine if sharks are present or where it is safe to swim. The only way to avoid sharks is to stay on shore.โ
Great, just what we need, more disclaimers. Now, Iโm no fan of swimming with sharks, but with all the hoopla, is it any wonder beachgoers are freaked out? Yes, if you see a seal, itโs probably a good idea to get out of the water. Same for an open wound. But sometimes, too much info is too much info.
Action Line: Iโm no fan of artificial intelligence, especially for your hard-earned money. Protect what you make. Big brother, isnโt you. Let’s talk.
