The U.S. Department of Energy and Small Business Administration have launched the Small Business Investment Company-Energy (SBIC-E) Initiative, a partnership designed to connect American small businesses developing critical technologies with private investment capital.

The initiative will focus on energy security, critical minerals, advanced manufacturing, AI, quantum computing, semiconductors, biotechnology, and advanced communications. DOE will provide technical and commercialization expertise, while the SBA will help administer and expand investment funds.

The program is intended to strengthen domestic manufacturing and supply chains, create jobs, and help promising technologies move from research and development into commercial production in the United States.
