Meta has begun constructing its largest data center yet, a $10 billion, four-million-square-foot complex in Louisiana. Under the contract, Meta will cover power costs for $3.2 billion in new gas plants for 15 years, longer than usual but shorter than critics wanted, and also help build 1.5 gigawatts of solar and battery power across the state despite environmental opposition, reports Fortune.
