Did you see the new mask mandate at the San Diego Unified School District in San Diego, CA? Ari Hoffman reports for The Post Millennial on a letter sent to parents by the district:

The letter added, “If your student is participating in summer school or other summer enrichment program, please send them to school or their program with a mask. If they do not have one, masks will be provided. Students and staff will be required to wear their masks while indoors only.”

Mask mandates are back for @SDSchools students.

For students who feel uncomfortable wearing a mask, SDUSD President Sharon Whitehurst-Payne suggests not returning to school at all.

How about President Biden’s “cancer” talk yesterday up the road from me in Somerset, MA? The Weather App warned of “Poor Air Quality.” It got that right, Jack.

Sure, it was a scorcher here yesterday, so hot in fact, Your Survival Guy opted to take a cart for my round of golf. But do you remember growing up without AC? I do. You dealt with it by turning on the window fan. We live in a world where creature comforts are an expectation, an entitlement.

No one wants to sacrifice their way of life, especially the likes of the global elite sitting in the hot sun listening to Biden. What’s their carbon footprint? Perhaps they sleep well at night dreaming of their carbon credits. Really?

When it comes to your way of life, you should be sitting pretty. With all the talk about ESG investing, cryptocurrency defaults, and lost money, remember how you got to where you are. You didn’t sprint to your success. In most cases, you walked, even when it was through the mud or the snow. You compounded your success over time.

Yes, there is a point when moving to a Survival State makes both financial and constitutional sense. But there are ways to make life work in your neck of the woods if you take the initiative and make it happen.

The keys to compounding money are 1) not losing it, and 2) time. You’ve got plenty of time to make a difference in your retirement savings. Just make sure you’re planning how to get through the storms, and you’ll be in good shape.

Action Line: There was a time when you could just set it and forget it with index funds. But the problem is they were loaded with technology stocks that took it in the neck. ESG? Never. It’s just a way to gather more fees. Focus on earnings and the economy, and the rest will fall into place. Stick with me. I believe in you.
