The US Energy Information Administration reports that US coal production for the week is estimated at 9.7 million short tons (MMst), down 1.9% from last week and 0.1% below the same week in 2024. Production east of the Mississippi totaled 4.1 MMst, while the west produced 5.6 MMst. Year-to-date, US coal production stands at 467.2 MMst, up 3.8% compared with the same period last year.
