Russia launched a major overnight missile and drone attack on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, injuring more than two dozen people and damaging residential, industrial, and energy infrastructure. In Kyiv, 18 people, including two children, were injured, while attacks in Odesa and Zaporizhzhia also caused injuries and damage. Ukraine said Russia used nearly 160 drones along with ballistic and cruise missiles.
At the same time, Ukraine continued its attacks on Russian energy infrastructure. A Ukrainian drone strike damaged an oil refinery in Yaroslavl, Russia, causing a fire that was later extinguished. The attacks reflect the continuing escalation of strikes against energy facilities on both sides, despite recent discussions about limiting attacks on energy infrastructure.
