Happy Monday, I hope you had a nice Motherโs Day weekend. If I had to come up with a phrase to help you live the retirement life you deserve, it would have to be prior planning.
When I was a kid, my mom would do the vacation planning. We were able to take some great trips. She was a schoolteacher, and my dad worked for himself as a realtor, meaning we had time to travel as a family, especially in the summers. We did plenty of sailing trips. But one year we traveled the country in a Winnebago, and when we asked how they knew where we were going next, she would always say, โprior planning.โ
Iโm sure you did the same with your family. Why stop in retirement? You want to prior plan for what you will need and what you want to do in retirement. Planning doesnโt need to be a chore. It can be part of the fun. When you visualize doing what you want to do and living your โbestโ life, youโre thinking about taking action, and thatโs huge.
Inertia is a mighty foe. There are always reasons to push stuff off to tomorrow. And at times, that may be the right decision. But it needs to be what you want. Survive. Keep your money, and you keep your freedom to choose.
Action Line: A more difficult task to overcome in retirement is how to spend money. If you need a travel guide, email me at ejsmith@yoursurvivalguy.com. And pick up a map for your journey by clicking here to subscribe to my free monthly Survive & Thrive letter.
