Chris Wright announced leadership changes at the US Department of Energy, including the Senate confirmation and swearing-in of Kyle Haustveit as Under Secretary of Energy. Haustveit previously served as Assistant Secretary of the Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office, overseeing oil, coal, natural gas, geothermal energy, and the National Energy Technology Laboratory.
Wright also announced that Alex Fitzsimmons will serve as Associate Deputy Secretary of Energy and Senior Advisor to the Secretary after previously acting as Under Secretary of Energy. Wright praised both officials for supporting the administration’s energy agenda focused on affordable, reliable, and secure energy.
