Ford joins several automakers expanding U.S. manufacturing. Toyota, Honda, GM, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, Nissan and Hyundai have announced major investments or production shifts, while companies such as Volvo Trucks and Rolls-Royce are also increasing U.S. manufacturing capacity.
The moves reflect a broader push to reduce reliance on overseas production and encourage automakers to build more vehicles and components domestically. Supporters say tariffs and other trade policies are helping reverse decades of offshoring, while companies gain greater control over their U.S. supply chains, according to the White House.
