The administration attributes the growth to its “America First” trade agenda, including tariffs on imported vehicles and measures aimed at encouraging automakers to build more vehicles in the United States. It also highlighted additional investments across Michigan in sectors such as technology, aerospace, energy, and advanced manufacturing, including projects by OpenAI, Oracle, Corning, Chobani, and GE Aerospace, arguing that these developments reflect a broader revival of American industry.
