Maersk said its US-flagged vessel Alliance Fairfax successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz under US military protection as part of “Project Freedom,” aimed at reopening the strategic waterway after shipping was disrupted by the U.S.-Iran conflict. The ship had been stranded since February, CNBC reported.

The Strait of Hormuz—normally handling about 20% of global oil and LNG flows—has seen major disruption, with US forces now escorting select commercial vessels. Despite recent transits, regional tensions remain high as military incidents continue and the ceasefire remains fragile.
