According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), on August 28, 2026, Cheniere Energy completed the final LNG train of its Corpus Christi Liquefaction Stage 3 project in Texas, expanding the facility’s total nominal capacity to 3.1 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d).

The project added seven midscale LNG trains with a combined capacity of 1.3 Bcf/d. With Stage 3 completed, Corpus Christi became the second-largest U.S. LNG export facility, behind Sabine Pass in Louisiana.

Another expansion is already underway, with two additional LNG trains expected online in 2028, adding another 0.4 Bcf/d of nominal capacity.
