The USDA has launched the National Proving Grounds Network for AgTech (NPG-Ag), a nationwide initiative to rigorously test agricultural technologies under real-world US farming and ranching conditions.
Led by the Agricultural Research Service in partnership with Grand Farm and land-grant universities, the program will evaluate both existing and emerging tools—including AI-driven and digital technologies—providing farmers with trusted data on performance, economic return, and practical value.
NPG-Ag aims to accelerate the adoption of innovations, reduce investment risk, and strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of US agriculture.
