“Do We Have Anything to Watch Tonight?”

February 15, 2023 By E.J. Smith

Your Survival Guy and Girl are watching The Last of Us, streaming on HBO Max, an apocalyptic thriller drama based on a popular video game I never played. Then, one of its lead actors, Pedro Pascal (from Mandalorian and Game of Thrones), hosted Saturday Night Live the other weekend, and that caught my attention.

How Your Survival Guy got into the show is in a manner that’s become all too frequent—in a panic.

Listening to Alison Krauss while getting dinner ready, she asked: “Do we have anything to watch tonight?”

I quickly pulled up Rotten Tomatoes and said this show gets a 97% and an audience score (my favored metric) of 91%. It’s supposed to be good (fingers crossed.)

The first two episodes were good. The third should earn Nick Offerman an Oscar. We have been through the first five episodes now. We’re into it.

OK, changing gears. How’s your retirement life? Because it’s been a long time since we’ve seen interest rates like we have right now. Remember, it’s interest on interest that can truly change your life. Just ask Albert Einstein, who referred to compound interest as the 8th Wonder of the World.

Click these charts to enlarge them.

But be careful who you trust. Not many folks knew much about how to invest in cryptos, then Matt Damon and Tom Brady talked ‘em up in last year’s Super Bowl.

Remember, the most important person in your investment success begins with a “Y” and ends with a “U.”

It’s up to you to make sure you’re on the right path.

Action Line: When you’re ready to talk, let me know.
