“What do you think of the bond market right now?” I’m asked.

“I like it,” I respond. “It’s about time savers get what they deserve for lending their money.”

As an observation, isn’t it funny how, when prices fall, buyers disappear? These are the same buyers who, a month ago, told you they liked good values. That they’re contrarian investors. Where did everyone go?

Which has me thinking about Your Retirement Life. Don’t assume you’re going to be a buyer when prices fall. In my experience, most take a wait-and-see approach.

Going against the crowd isn’t for the faint of heart. But it can be profitable. Having someone to guide you through the thicket of bonds can help cultivate a stream of income you may be thankful you have down the road.

Imagine how you will travel down that retirement road, and understand that you don’t need to be able to predict the future. Just look at what’s in front of you today and act accordingly.

Are you building your margin of safety in all areas of your life? Putting some power in your pantry is more about being a prepared person than being able to read at night. Preparing for your future is important in all aspects of life.

Action Line: When you build a margin of safety into your life, you can have a level of freedom to do what others may be too fearful to do.
