Your Survival Guy hopes you had a nice holiday weekend. We finally got out on the boat. It’s been one of those summers where rain or wind on the weekend has kept boats on docks. On the Fourth, we had a nice window of weather to cruise over to Mattapoisett on the Tom Sawyer. In calm seas, it’s just over an hour cruise at 30 knots from Newport, RI to Mattapoisett, MA. It was our dog Stanton’s maiden voyage. We had a lovely cruise over.
The problem with weekend boating is you want to get back home Sunday. The wind was up on Sunday morning, easily blowing 15-20 knots out in Buzzards Bay with gusts of 25 knots and seas that felt bigger than forecasted. This was a trip Your Survival Gal and Stan would take home by car.
