Anthropic has committed to roughly $517 billion in compute capacity agreements over the past 11 months, according to The Information. Since October, the AI company has secured 14.8 gigawatts (GW) of compute capacity for use over the coming years, with Google and Amazon Web Services (AWS) accounting for about 11 GW combined.
The deals span data center leases and cloud providers, including Google, AWS, Nscale, Riot Platforms, CoreWeave, Fluidstack, Akamai, Microsoft, AMD, and others. The commitments far exceed Anthropic’s earlier projection of about $180 billion in server rentals through 2029, suggesting a major acceleration in its infrastructure spending. The company also confidentially filed an IPO with the SEC in June, although it has disclosed few details.
