
Deborah Mary Sophia of Reuters reports that Alphabet will acquire cybersecurity startup Wiz for $32 billion to boost its cloud business and compete with Amazon and Microsoft. The deal will enhance Google Cloud with AI-powered security solutions. Wiz, valued at $12 billion, serves major clients like Morgan Stanley and BMW. The acquisition is expected to close in 2026 and follows Google’s 2022 purchase of Mandiant for $5.4 billion. Sophia writes:

One of the fastest-growing software startups, Wiz was valued at $12 billion in a funding round last May. It works with cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft’s Azure as well as Google Cloud and counts Morgan Stanley, BMW and luxury powerhouse LVMH among its customers.
